Four South Korean tourists lost their lives when their jeep was swept away by rising floodwaters near Da Lat in Vietnam.
The incident occurred as they were traveling with a Vietnamese driver in the Cu Lan Village Tourist Area. Two of the tourists’ bodies were recovered 4 kilometers from where the jeep was swept away, while the other two were found later. The driver survived with minor injuries.
Local officials attributed the sudden rise in water to flows from upstream, despite light rainfall. This area is a popular tourist spot known for jeep rides through shallow jungle streams. Heavy rains had affected many parts of Lam Dong province in the preceding days.
